Chp 36: Resting At The Ruins.
"...I will let it pass for now!" snarled Azrael, "I will lead you to the surface. Come!" Rock followed Max and Azrael to the surface of Marble Zone. Rock could see both Bark and Bean on the ground, both badly injured. "I'm guessing you did that?" asked Rock looked at the two on the ground out cold. "They tried to attack me!" snorted Azrael, "A foolish move you would say." "Concidering they tried to toss me directly into the lava..." said Rock, "They deserved it!" "Mon Due!" came Françoir's voice. The trio turned to see the tanuki running up to them. "Mr. Saulnier!" said Rock. "What iz zis?" demanded Françoir. "They were still harrasing me!" snorted Rock, "Swindle was paying them to knock out all of his opponents!" "Sain Cream!" jumped Françoir, "Zat Fiend! I will make Zure zat zis will not happen zagain!" "You are the tournament organizer?" asked Azrael. "Oui," said Françoir, "Zat iz moi." "I am curious how my son Max here is doing." said Azrael. "Zat lease One Loss." said Françoir. "Well I managed to beat him." said Rock. "Zen it'z duex." said Françoir. "Cheap skate skunk." cursed Max. "I will deal with ziz!" said Françoir, "Take ze time to rest. I will zend for you later! Auvoir!"  Rock waited for Françoir to leave before asking Max "A Skunk! He didn't have, by chance, a dark red strip down his back, did he?" "And a slight french accent!" snorted Max, "Knocked me for a loop with his shovel after we heard a gun shot!" "Hm..." muttered Azrael, "Max, why not let your friend spend the night with us." "Huh?" jumped Max and Rock. "Um..Do you mind?" asked Max. "I have no problem." said Rock, "It's been a rough few days. That is if your father doesn't mind." Azrael nodded and simpley said "Follow." Rock followed Max and Azrael to a ruind village on the edge of Green Hill Zone. Just as they entered it a voice called out "How did it go?" Rock looked ahead and saw the squirrel who lead him off a cliff. "Oh!" said the squirrel, "Hello again mr. rabbit!" "Ahem." coughed Max, "Rock this is my best friend, Fisker." "Yeah!" snorted Rock flatly, "We've already met." "Sorry mr. Rock." said Fisker scratching his head, "I didn't mean to." "He told me he had a shortcut from Starlight Zone to Spring Yard Zone." said Rock crossly, "It was off a cliff." Max laughed, "Same old Fisker. Heart of gold but boy do you got to learn to give better directions." "I said I was Sorry!" shrugged Fisker.
