Chp 37: Next Morning.
Rock woke up the next morning and walked outside. He saw Max run a stone across his sword, sharpening it. "Morning." stretched Rock. "You snore like a miss-firing Chainsaw." Max said flatly. "Eh?!" said Rock, "So I snore, big deal. Anyways, I'm headed back home. I'll see you around Max." "Yeah." snorted Max, "See you around." As Rock left the ruins and headed for the South Island Bridge, he said to himself "Light sleeper..." "And who would that be?" came a familier voice. Rock turned to see Rhine standing behind him. "Good Grief, Rhine!" said Rock, "How do you keep doing that?!" "I have my ways." she replied, "How was you fight?" "You mean fights." said Rock flatly, "I'll tell you about them on the way to Station Square." An hour had passed before they got to Station Square. "So it was one of the fighters that hired those thugs." said Rhine, rubbing her chin, "What was his name again?" "Swindle." said Rock with a tone of distaste, "I hope Mr. Saulnier gives him a run for his money." "And the other opponent.." started Rhine, "He's a friend of yours?" "Sort of.." admitted Rock, "We were dragged into an adventure together...We didn't see eye to eye." "Oh, Hey Rock!" came a voice. Rock and Rhine turned to see Conroy run towards them. "Conroy!" Rock said with a smile. "Um..." stumbled Conroy as he looked at Rhine. "Don't worry." said Rhine "I was just about to take my leave. I'll see you around, Rock." Rock and Conroy watched as she walked away before Conroy said "Girlfriend?" "No..." said Rock, "She's been poppin up from time to time. But anyways, what's up?" "Mr. Saulnier has told me about your fights yesterday. Swindle will be punished in the rankings of the tournament." "Good!" snorted Rock. "As for you, your next fight," continued Conroy, "It will be at Everwood Forest, south of Metrocity. Here's a ticket for the six'o'clock train tommorrow night." "I just came off a double..." said Rock weakly. "The fight will only be two days from tommorrow." said Conroy, "Mr. Saulnier knows his fighters are not machines. But be warned. Everwood Forest is a protected reserve and you can't make a mess of the place." "Conroy." said Rock, "I practicly live at Woodhaven Campground. I'll be careful."
